Meet The Staff: Corinne Stephens
Meet our Business Partnerships Manager
based out of the Maryland & DC Office
Corinne was born and raised in New Jersey. She earned a Bachelor of Science in animal science with a minor in environmental policy from Rutgers University. After undergrad, she worked as a veterinary technician and taught conservation education programs through the Liberty Science Center and Monmouth County, NJ Park System. Corinne later received her Master of Science in animals and public policy from Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. For her final Master’s research project, she worked with The Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife to document the exact locations and risk factors involved in turtle road mortality.
Corinne Stephens joined the Wildlife Habitat Council certification team in Silver Spring, MD in 2007 after interning with Defenders of Wildlife in Washington, DC. At the Wildlife Habitat Council, Corinne managed the Certification Department and team and worked closely with corporate landowners to establish wildlife habitat and conservation education programs, for 8 years. Corinne joined the Alliance in May 2015 and uses her knowledge of corporate environmental stewardship to develop and manage the Alliance’s Businesses for the Bay membership association, as well as grow other initiatives with the business community in the Chesapeake region.
Corinne actively volunteers in her community, monitors stream macroinvertebrates with the Audubon Naturalist Society, and is the President of Friends of Sligo Creek, her local watershed group. In her spare time, Corinne enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking, and spending time with her husband, son, and their menagerie of pets
