Meet The Staff: Meredeth Dash
Meet our RiverWise Schools Program Coordinator
based out of the Virginia Office
Meredeth grew up in Baltimore, MD and always had a curiosity for the outdoors. Her senior year of high school, her Biology class took a field trip to Smith Island and her love of the Bay was born. Meredeth has joined the Virginia office as the part-time Program Coordinator for RiverWise Schools. Prior to coming on board with Alliance, Meredeth has been a stay-at- home mom to two boys. While home with the kids, she began to volunteer with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and completed their VoiCeS class to become a Bay steward. She continued to increase her volunteer efforts and now serves as a Clean Water Captain and Grasses for the Masses Regional Coordinator. Meredeth enjoys being a citizen activist and also attends Hanover County Board of Supervisor meetings as well as the Hanover-Caroline Soil and Water Conservation District meetings where her voice can be heard as a Bay advocate. In her life pre- kids, she taught in Arlington Public Schools as a 3 rd grade teacher and dreamed of how one day she would be an environmental educator. Her new role at Alliance will allow her to merge her two loves of the Bay and education and is her dream job! She holds a Biology degree from James Madison University and a Masters of Education from George Mason University. Her husband is an avid open-water swimmer and they both spend as much of the summer as possible with their boys and dog, Daisy, on the James River. Meredeth enjoys running, peace signs, camping with her family, OBX vacations, the music of Carbon Leaf, cooking from scratch and everything RVA.
