RiverTrends Water Quality Monitoring Training

Loading Map....

Are you interested in learning more about your local stream and the health of the water? We are seeking volunteers to help us collect important data on streams in Virginia! We will provide training and supplies, all you have to do is commit to attending the training and monitoring a site once a month.

You’ll be analyzing water to collect data on core parameters such as dissolved oxygen, temperature, pH, water clarity, and bacteria. All of these tests will be performed in the field using kits and equipment. If you live in the City of Richmond, you’ll also collect samples to be sent to the City of Richmond lab for analysis of nutrients, such as Total Nitrogen and Total Phosphorus, and sediment.

By joining our network of volunteers, you will help us to pinpoint streams that most need help so we can find solutions.

Registration is full. Please check back at a later time for another training.
