Honoring Our 2020 Award Winners

The Alliance is proud to recognize our 2020 Environmental Leadership Award Winner.

The Alliance created the Fran Flanigan Environmental Leadership Award to honor an individual who has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to the restoration and protection of the Chesapeake Bay’s lands and waters, whose work has had a meaningful and lasting impact on those efforts, and whose efforts have been consistent with the Alliance’s mission of fostering partnerships and building consensus to advance the cause of environmental stewardship in the watershed.

Beth Ginter is the first executive director of the Chesapeake Conservation Landscaping Council, a coalition of individuals and organizations dedicated to researching, promoting, and educating professionals and the public about conservation landscaping to protect the Chesapeake Bay. The Alliance will also honor five Watershed Champions at our Virtual Taste celebration for their outstanding contributions to the Chesapeake watershed through innovative thinking, initiative, and the development of inspiring and impactful partnerships to advance stewardship in the Chesapeake watershed.

Jennifer Cotting was appointed Director in 2018, after fifteen years with the Environmental Finance Center (EFC).
