While Jennifer has lived around the US and overseas, she feels the Chesapeake Bay watershed area has always been “home”. Therefore she is thrilled to be coordinating local government engagement that ensures next generations will also enjoy this beautiful and ever-engaging “home”.

Jennifer has a Geology/Political Science degree from the University of Arizona and a Masters in Marine Policy from the University of Southern California. She was selected as a NOAA Sea Grant Fellow and worked on the House Merchant Marine and Fisheries Committee for one year. She then spent 13 years working on drinking water policy for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California in Los Angeles.

After she and her family decided to move to Austin, Texas, she became the managing editor of the SafeDrinkingWater.com NEWS, a weekly, internet-based newsletter focusing on drinking water quality issues. She loved keeping track on all things drinking water from an upstairs, in-home office while also doing all those kid-raising activities like car-pool, classroom helper and…yes…team mom.

When the NEWS ran its course, she became the office manager for a local, family-owned Austin real estate company and enjoyed helping clients make it through the home buying/selling process and realtors grow their business.

With her two sons grown, out of college and doing things she is immensely proud of, Jennifer has returned “home” to Maryland and her beloved Bay.
