Home / Events / Project Clean Communities: Water Week Cleanup
Keeping debris from entering our waterways is critical to ensuring our community has clean water for swimming, paddling, fishing, and drinking. Volunteer with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and partners at multiple locations to help Lancaster County work towards cleaner and healthier streams, rivers, and communities!
Since the first Lancaster Water Week in 2017, the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay and multiple partners have gathered at different locations throughout Lancaster County to remove trash from the water and along the banks of our streams and rivers. Plastic bottles and bags, a shopping cart, so many tires, and even an ill-fated ATM have been plucked from the water thanks to the efforts of hundreds of volunteers.
