Meet The Staff: Jenna Mackley
Meet our Program Coordinator
based out of the Pennsylvania Office
Jenna grew up in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, a small town just outside the city of Harrisburg. Growing up so close to the Susquehanna River, Jenna was exposed to the issues facing the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed early in life. When Jenna was in high school, she started to learn more about the science behind the Bay’s issues, and that’s when she knew environmental science was what she wanted to focus
on in college.
Every summer for as long as she can remember, Jenna and her family have been going camping to the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York. This is the place where her appreciation for the environment has grown into a passion to protect the earth’s invaluable resources. In her free time, Jenna enjoys kayaking, hiking, working out, reading, and watching Penn State football and the New York Yankees.
In May 2017, Jenna graduated from Penn State with a B.S. in Environmental Resource Management with two minors in Geographic Information Science (GIS) and Watersheds and Water Resources. For three summers before graduation, Jenna interned for a cultural and environmental consulting company, ASC Group, Inc., where she assisted in wetland identification and delineation, NEPA hazardous waste site investigations, and threatened and endangered species habitat assessments. During and after her senior year of college, Jenna was a Watershed Technician for Matt Royer at the Penn State Agriculture and Environment Center, where she found her niche in the watershed world.
Jenna started working in the Alliance’s Pennsylvania office as their Program Coordinator in October 2017. She is excited to be a part of the team and assist in furthering the Alliance’s mission throughout Pennsylvania.
