Networking & Education

///Networking & Education

The Alliance works to accelerate restoration and protection activities occurring in the Chesapeake Bay watershed through the active support of our partners. We accomplish this by hosting regional and local networking and issue based Forums where information, energy, and ideas can be exchanged; creating on-line tools for communicating, organizing, and advancing work; and directly supporting partner initiatives.

Chesapeake Network

The Chesapeake Network is an online community of organizations and individuals working to protect and restore the land and waters of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.

Chesapeake Watershed Forum

The Chesapeake Watershed Forum is a two-day conference, where representatives from local watershed organizations and local government leaders come together to learn the latest restoration science and direction. The Forum provides excellent opportunity to network with other groups and individuals facing similar challenges, and to be inspired to continue the work of preserving, protecting and restoring the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Chesapeake Bay Program

Since 1983, the Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP) has led and directed the restoration and protection of the Chesapeake Bay. The CBP connects representatives from across the 64,000-square-mile watershed including: federal, state, and local governments.

ForumPlus

ForumPlus is an extension of the Chesapeake Watershed Forum that is designed to provide you and your organization with continuous opportunities to learn, network, and inspire each other on a variety of environmental subjects through many social platforms. It aims to facilitate a continuous conversation, create partnerships between environmental groups, and focus on informative sharing.

CAC

The Alliance coordinates the work of Citizens’ Advisory Committee (CAC), a group of stakeholders from across the watershed representing interests of watershed organizations, business, agriculture, fundraisers, builders and residents. CAC Members are appointed by their respective Governors or Mayor and the Alliance’s Board of Directors.
