Annika joined the Alliance as the New York Agriculture Projects Coordinator in summer 2025. She works with farmers, state and federal agencies, local stakeholders, and technical advisors to advance the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices in dairy farms across the northern part of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
Annika lives and works in Ithaca, New York. She moved to Ithaca in 2021 to pursue her masters degree in Soil and Crop Sciences at Cornell University. She received her M.S. and published her thesis on Integrated Weed Management in Organic, No-Till Soybean systems in 2023. After graduating, Annika worked on several diversified vegetable farms in the Finger Lakes area to learn more about the on-the-ground experiences of farmers and to make deeper connections with the agriculture community.
Most recently, Annika worked as a Technical Assistance Provider with Pasa Sustainable Agriculture. She provided financial and technical assistance to help small-scale farmers in New York and Northern PA implement Climate-Smart agriculture practices. Through this work, Annika became trained on NRCS conservation practice standards, various methods of state funding, and most importantly, relationship management with local farmers. Annika is very excited to continue to listen to farmer needs and advance the adoption of sustainable practices with the Alliance.
Outside of work, Annika enjoys cultivating her native wildflower garden and watching biodiversity grow in her own backyard. Her hobbies include cooking delicious meals with local produce, biking around the hills of the Finger Lakes, and spending time outside with friends.
