The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay is excited to recognize eight Lockheed Martin facilities throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed as Businesses for the Bay (B4B) Members! Lockheed Martin is the only company with multiple B4B Members. In addition, the Lockheed Martin – Owego, NY facility is the first B4B Member in New York! The Alliance recognizes the corporation for its commitment to Chesapeake Bay protection and restoration.

The eight Lockheed Martin B4B Members are spread throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia:

Lockheed Martin B4B Member teams are committed to protecting and restoring the local environment and engaging their employees and communities through various activities. These initiatives include partnering with local environmental non-profits, participating in trash cleanups, hosting annual Earth Day and e-cycling events, reducing energy and water-use, landscaping with native trees and native plants, encouraging employees to use environmentally-friendly commuting options, maintaining an official Forest Conservation Easement, creating native wildlife habitat, and controlling stormwater.

“Lockheed Martin is committed to being a good steward and good neighbor in our communities,” said Carol Cala, Vice President of Energy, Environment, Safety and Health at Lockheed Martin. “Our partnership with Businesses for the Bay is a natural extension of our work to protect and restore the Chesapeake Bay.”

Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay Executive Director, Kate Fritz, stated, “The Alliance is grateful for the continued partnership of Lockheed Martin, so much so that we awarded Dave Gunnarson, Senior Staff Environmental Engineer, our 2017 Virginia Watershed Champion Award. It is through Dave and his colleagues’ passion and drive that we are proud to announce eight Lockheed Martin facilities, from New York to Virginia, have become Businesses for the Bay members. Lockheed Martin is truly modeling the way.”
