This month for our 50 Stories for our 50th, we are celebrating community members taking action. April also marks the kick-off of our annual Project Clean Stream season. We would not be able to pull off hundreds of clean-up events each year for the past 17 years, without the support from our amazing site captains. The site captains pick out the location, recruit volunteers, and most importantly help make an impact in their community.

I interviewed three site captains, John Long from Clean Bread and Cheese Creek, Celeste Gucanac, co-owner of Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters, and Carol Newill, founder of Green Towson Alliance. The three of them share their stories of how they became involved with Project Clean Stream and their favorite part about making a difference in their community. The Alliance would not have been able to grow in the past 50 years, without continuous support from volunteers like these three.
