We had a great time celebrating the Chesapeake this year with our family, friends, partners, and volunteers across the watershed for the Taste! Read on to learn more about each event full of local music, food, drinks, and awards.

Let’s Recap!

Over 360 guests attended our three Taste events, raising over $9,400 through silent auctions and raffles. With the generous support of our guests and event sponsors, we raised a combined total of over $126,000 for clean water in our Chesapeake communities. Thank you for being part of the solution for clean water in the Chesapeake Bay watershed!

Pennsylvania

111 of our friends and partners gathered at River’s Edge in York County, Pennsylvania. With your help, our silent auction and raffle raised over $3,380!

It was our pleasure to award Jodi Sulpizio as our 2023 Pennsylvania Watershed Champion! Jodi Sulpizio is a Natural Resources Educator for Penn State Extension in York County and coordinates the Master Watershed Steward Program and the Spongy Moth Program in York. We recognize Jodi for her passion for empowering both citizens and volunteers to protect our natural resources.

Virginia

With 79 attendees gathered at Blue Atlas Restaurant & Market, Virginia’s silent auction and raffle raised over $3,000!

Our 2023 Virginia Watershed Champions awardees were Matt Lively and Tim Harper. Matt and Tim began collaborating in early 2013 and quickly found that their strengths as artists were complementary. Their combined installations include a rainwater harvesting system sculpture at Binford Middle School, designed with school students and the Alliance, along with many other exciting Richmond projects.

Meeting Pollution Head-On

When you attend the Taste, you partner with the Alliance to deliver on-the-ground solutions and technical assistance for healthier lands and cleaner water across our Chesapeake Bay watershed communities. As you travel around the watershed and look at our impact, you’ll notice the diverse communities where our work takes place and the unique ways we bring clean water to those communities. Each of our programs is a solution to a problem that our Bay is facing right now!

Join us for our brand-new impact video to see how the Alliance is meeting the Bay’s problems head on before they reach our waterways.
