Rachael joined the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay as a Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps Member in August 2025. She will be working closely with the Maryland Green Infrastructure team where she will be engaging in programs and projects centered around restoration, climate change, and community engagement.

Growing up near the headwaters of the Rappahannock River in Fauquier County, VA she has always had a passion for being outdoors. She received her B.S. in Environmental Science and a minor in Environmental Sustainability from the University of Mary Washington. During her undergraduate studies Rachael gained hands-on experience in data collection and analysis, contributing to several environmental research projects focused on human impacts to local aquatic ecosystems. Since graduating, she has spent time working as an environmental educator and getting to spend a lot of time outside in the Rappahannock River.

In her free time, Rachael loves hiking, reading, traveling, and recently picked up knitting again.
