Growing up in the headwaters of the Rappahannock River in Virginia, Rachael has always had a passion for being outdoors. She earned a B.S. in Environmental Science with a minor in Environmental Sustainability from the University of Mary Washington. During her undergraduate studies, she engaged in hands-on environmental research, examining human impacts on local aquatic ecosystems. She began her career as an environmental educator with Friends of the Rappahannock.
Rachael joined the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay as a Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps Member in 2025. Now as a Green Infrastructure Projects Associate, she works on environmental restoration initiatives and stormwater management efforts throughout the Bay watershed. She is also certified a Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, and knitting.
