What Will Your Legacy Be?

We all hope to leave something extraordinary as our legacy, to feel that our lives had an impact, and our actions made a positive difference in our world.

A Planned Gift to the Alliance will secure your legacy and ensure the future beauty and good health of the Chesapeake that you have loved…for generations to come.

Join the many others who have made a Planned Gift to leave a legacy by helping the Alliance continue to restore and protect the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed forests, rivers and streams.

It’s easy to make plans now to provide a future gift.

Planned Giving options may include arrangements to leave a bequest in your will or designating the Alliance as one of the beneficiaries of your retirement account, life insurance or charitable trust.

Planned Giving Benefits:

  • Establish or modify at any time.
  • Retain control of your assets throughout your lifetime.
  • Enjoy an estate tax deduction.
  • Reduce your tax burden.
  • Know that your gift will help to protect and preserve the Chesapeake for future generations.
  • Make a lasting impact on the Chesapeake for “tomorrow” through your Planned Giving today.

Other Ways to Donate:

A Gift of Securities

Donating a gift of securities, including stocks or bonds, is a simple way to make a gift to the Alliance.  Your gift may reduce your tax liability while enabling the Alliance to expand our projects directly impacting the success of our mission to restore the Chesapeake!

Gifts of Insurance

If you have a life insurance policy that has outlasted its original purpose, consider making a gift of your insurance policy to help further the Alliance’s work.

How Can I Do This?

Check with your financial planner about how a Planned Gift or donation can benefit both you and the Chesapeake Bay and its lands, rivers and streams!

The Alliance is a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations to the Alliance are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
