Home / Events / 2022 Volunteer Tree Planting Relay – Treelay Planting in Westminster, MD (Maryland Site)
Every year, the Alliance engages communities, companies, and conservationists to plant thousands of trees in the Chesapeake Bay watershed. We’ve been looking for a big, bold way to celebrate the fantastic tree planting efforts of our volunteers. Hence, The 24-Hour Volunteer Tree Planting Relay, also known as Treelay for short. Treelay is a series of volunteer tree plantings scheduled back-to-back over a 24-hour period (hence the relay). More information can be found at allianceforthebay.org/treelay.
Join a tree planting relay- a Treelay! 6 sites, 4 hours each, for a 24-hour total continuous tree planting event.
This is the MARYLAND site! It runs from 9 AM – 1 PM on Saturday, October 29th. This is a park setting on flat ground with a paved trail leading to the planting area.
Volunteers need to wear long pants, clothes that can get dirty, and close-toed shoes (boots recommended). We also recommend a hat, bug spray, and gloves if you have them. We are rain or shine!
Please bring water for yourself. Shovels and mallets would also be appreciated!
Please carpool if you are able! There is a large parking lot adjacent to the site.
The exact address of this planting and parking related details will be sent to registered volunteers approximately 3 days prior to the event via email.
