In 2024, the Alliance began contributing to a blooming workforce development program with the Loysville Youth Development Center (LYDC) in central Pennsylvania. Two years later, Alliance and LYDC staff reflect on the program as it comes to a close.
Noel Dorwart Park was predominantly a parking lot and a large lawn space before the project began. With help from the Alliance’s Forests Team and dedicated volunteers, the park is receiving shade trees, stormwater practices, and a native meadow.

Thank you to the 732 attendees who joined us for our 2026 Wild & Scenic Film Festival. Festival-goers enjoyed nine films about that informed, inspired, and ignited solutions and possibilities to restore the earth and human communities while creating a positive future for the next generation.
The Alliance has partnered with Joe Jurgielewicz & Son, Ltd., one of the nation’s leading Pekin duck producers, to integrate conservation best management practices that reduce nutrient runoff, strengthen biosecurity, and improve long-term environmental health across the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
The Pennsylvania Woodland Resilience Enhancement Network (PWREN) program cost-shares forest practice-plan writing and the implementation of management practices meant to improve the health, resilience, and value of forest land.
