This year’s Back to the Bay, hosted by the Alliance, will be held on Brown’s Island in Richmond. This freefamily fun day includes an engaging mix of local residents, communities, businesses, nonprofits, and more for a day of celebrating Chesapeake Bay restoration! It’s a fun mixture of games, oyster shucking lessons, wildlife education, historic boats, and other environmental education exhibits.
We are expecting thousands of visitors to attend Back to the Bay, which will be celebrated on June 9, 2018 on Brown’s Island as part of the Richmond Symphony’s Festival of the River: Three Days of Art, Music and Environment.
Your Back to the Bay Sponsorship directly supports Back to the Bay activities that raise public awareness of the critical importance of Virginia’s rivers and streams, as well as the Alliance’s work throughout Virginia communities to restore the Chesapeake at the local level! We thank you!
Nissa is the Alliance's Virginia State Director, where she oversees program staff, and manages a variety of projects, all relying heavily on local partnerships that leverage resources to implement green infrastructure and improve local water quality.
