Carly was born and raised in Northern Virginia, getting a healthy dose of the outdoors from a young age through 14 years of summer camp and staffing. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Environmental Science and a minor in Urban and Environmental Planning.

In college, Carly participated in a program that took her to Lyon and Copenhagen to study climate change and urban sustainability. She also interned on both a private farm in Virginia and with NYC’s Department of Parks and Recreation, where she developed interests in agriculture and urban forestry. After graduating, Carly became a LEED Green Associate and worked closely with a professor to research water scarcity trends and watershed health. She’s very interested in overall climate resilience and encouraging sustainable communities.

Outside of work, if Carly isn’t with her cats, Merlin and Gemini, you can find her in the gym, exploring local parks, or discovering new food and music from around the world. Her latest bucket list item is to go on a National Parks road trip around the country.
