Multimedia Producer
email
Rhiannon Johnston joined the Alliance as a multimedia producer in 2026. Originally from Kentucky, she grew up camping with her family at Red River Gorge and exploring the small towns across her home state. She received a B.A. in Photojournalism and Advertising from Western Kentucky University, where she began exploring her love for the outdoors through visual storytelling. Her work has included documenting a project caver who continued exploring caves while navigating a breast cancer diagnosis and co-producing a documentary telling the story of a nomadic sheep farm in West Jutland, Denmark.
After graduating, Rhiannon worked seasonally as a multimedia producer with Friends of Acadia, the official nonprofit partner of Acadia National Park. But her connection to the Chesapeake Bay began during an earlier internship as a multimedia intern with the Chesapeake Bay Program. Now, she’s excited to be back, continuing to tell the stories of the watershed.
When she’s not behind the camera, Rhiannon enjoys hiking, discovering local restaurants, and crafting. She loves meeting new people and exploring the ways they connect with the places they call home.
