Green Infrastructure Projects Assistant
Savanna is the DC Green Infrastructure Projects Assistant. She grew up in Louisiana and spent her summers in the Colorado Rockies and Ozark Mountains. Initially starting school with the
hopes of becoming a dentist, Savanna took a plant propagation class and found she had a green thumb. She earned a degree in Horticulture and began working as a floral designer.
Moving to DC in the summer of 2017, Savanna started taking certification classes on the weekends. One involving Stormwater Restoration. This particular class resonated with her and
her experiences with hurricanes and flooding; ultimately creating her passion for protecting our streams and waterways.
Savanna works with multiple organizations around the district to help increase stormwater runoff education and beautification projects. She enjoys live music, hiking, kayaking, biking and
working in her garden.
