On January 26, the Alliance hosted a Photography Workshop with noted Bay photographer David Harp.

Dave’s images are well known in the Chesapeake Region for his ability to capture the beauty and soul of the Bay and its wildlife, its marshes and rivers, and the people that live and work in the watershed. With friend and writer Tom Horton, Dave’s photos have been the feature of numerous books about the Bay.

The group trekked to Blackwater Wildlife Refuge and its surrounding area. Of particular focus were tens of thousands of snow geese, annual visitors to the area, and the patient wait for their eruption, as well as the evening light and moon rise on the marsh.  Those who attended were inspired  by the beautiful winter day and Dave’s enthusiasm was contagious. The Workshop was an event that was auctioned at the Alliance’s annual Taste of the Chesapeake gala.
