The Alliance Launches First Ever Crab Cake Week in Richmond, VA!

In celebration of the 2019 Chesapeake Bay Awareness Week, the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay is launching a new initiative in Richmond, VA. During the 1st week of June 2019 (June 1st – 9th), we will be presenting the city’s first ever Crab Cake Week! Throughout the entire week, participating restaurants will be showcasing their tasty crab cake meals while raising awareness about Richmond’s relationship to the Bay and the importance of clean water for the food we love.

Richmond’s Crab Cake Week will be a great way to celebrate our city’s fantastic restaurant community, while enjoying one of our region’s tastiest treats. Participating restaurants will be serving crab cakes throughout the week and using only sustainably-sourced blue crabs fresh from the Chesapeake Bay.

In addition, 10% of all crab cake sales throughout the week will be donated back to the Alliance to support our mission to lead, support, and inspire local action to restore and protect the lands, rivers, and streams of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
