The Alliance Pennsylvania office finished up their 2019 READY Program season on Thursday, April 25th. The READY program helps connect young adults looking for a career change or a new beginning in conservation landscaping in urban and rural settings. This year’s program was a great success! The mighty crew of four young adults assisted with a variety of field work with the Alliance and their partners, including riparian forest buffer plantings, invasive species removal, green infrastructure maintenance, and trout stocking.

After just four short weeks of training, the crew was inspired by their work with the READY Program and have already begun pursuing careers in the environmental field. Crew members found employment with Earthbound Artisan, the City of Lancaster, and Landstudies. The crew was led by Austin Unruh, of Crow and Berry Land Management, who mentored the team during the four-week training period. Planning for next year’s program will start again later this year.
