The Alliance is excited to welcome two new team members to our staff!

Jim Kauffman joins our Forests team as the Forests Projects Coordinator in Pennsylvania. Jim will be working with farmers, producers, and landowners to promote and implement riparian buffers and reforestation projects throughout the Chesapeake Bay Watershed in Pennsylvania. Jim has spent a majority of his career delivering habitat and conservation programs to private landowners, and will use this experience to continue applying reforestation initiatives throughout Pennsylvania’s portion of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Carly Starobin joins our team as the DC Projects Associate for our DC office. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Environmental Science and a minor in Urban and Environmental Planning. In college, Carly participated in a program that took her to Lyon and Copenhagen to study climate change and urban sustainability. She also interned on both a private farm in Virginia and with NYC’s Department of Parks and Recreation, where she developed interests in agriculture and urban forestry. After graduating, Carly became a LEED Green Associate and worked closely with a professor to research water scarcity trends and watershed health.

Join us in welcoming Jim and Carly to the Alliance!
