This year the Alliance celebrated its 15th Annual Watershed Forum! The Watershed Forum is a watershed-wide event reaching over 400 restoration and protection practitioners to inspire and empower local action towards clean water. We share successful tools and techniques, offer lessons and learnings from on-the-ground work, build capacities of local organizations, foster partnerships, educate on new initiatives and emerging practices, network among each other, and celebrate our successes.

For the past 14 years the Watershed Forum was hosted at the beautiful National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown, WV. This year the event was hosted virtual, however that didn’t stop us from sharing, learning, and networking. The theme of this year’s Forum was, Climate Resiliency in a Changing Chesapeake Watershed. We heard from some amazing plenary speakers including author of “Rising: Dispatches from a New American Shore,” Elizabeth Rush as well as, climate artists, Linda Cheung and Hosey Coronoa, who showcased the intersection of climate change and culture through the lens of art.

Throughout the two half days of the Virtual Forum, we hosted 20 different sessions for attendees to choose from with a wide range of topics all of which revolved around our theme, Climate Resiliency in a Changing Chesapeake Watershed.
