The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay is leading a project in Lancaster County, PA to address important obstacles to agricultural soil health practice adoption. Part of the program will provide cost-share for farmers to rent equipment needed for soil health practices. This RFP is seeking equipment manufacturers or dealers, as well as farmers who own relevant equipment, to offer and transport equipment rentals to farmers who enroll in the Alliance’s cost-share program. The program will run through May 2027.

The initial round of applications for this RFP are due on May 30th, 2025. The first round of applicants will be notified by June 9, 2025 as to whether they were selected. Applications will continue being accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed at the beginning of each month until all project funds are obligated.Alliance expects to contract with at least 2 applicants for no-till planters/drills, and at least 1 applicant for an interseeder. Additional providers may be selected for other equipment as well, depending on the applicant pool.
