Forest for the Bats

Bats are important members of our forest ecosystems and perform invaluable functions for humanity. Forests for the Bats, a Halloween takeover of the Alliance’s Forests for the Bay program, invites you to learn more about these fascinating animals and their current conservation plights as we feature articles, videos, events, and resources about our furry friends and their importance to our Chesapeake ecosystem!

In the spirit of Halloween, we’re opening our Forests for the Bats celebration to the other spooky members of our watershed’s forests, wetlands, and streams. Join us to learn about the creepy, crawly, ghoulish, and ghastly flora and fauna that make our watershed so special!

This year we will not be hosting any in-person Forests for the Bats events. However, the Alliance’s Pennsylvania Forests Program Manager, Ryan Davis, is partnering with the Lancaster Conservancy to host a virtual tree ID workshop on October 14th from 6pm to 7pm. The event is free, but registration is required.
